Sensitech Participating in Eurofruit Middle East Congress Dubai, United Arab Emirates, October 29-31, 2007 The Middle East retail trade is expected to expand dramatically in the next few years, with a largely young and increasingly affluent population being more and more perceptive to modern grocery outlet formats. French retail giants such as Carrefour and Casino both are making huge investments in the region, and other regional retailers follow suit. Carrefour – which already operates in UAE, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Oman – opened its first store in Jordan at the end of last year and is planning entry into the Bahrain market too.* Also, the trend of healthy convenience products is taking a rapid flight.
